Who’s More Promising: Threads or Twitter?
Threads and Twitter are like two kids on the block trying to establish who is the strongest. Other kids are trying to weigh in on that too.
Brian Krassenstein, a social media personality and co-founder of the Hill Reporter, decided to pose a ‘sincere’ question on Twitter.
In his tweet dated July 16, he asked the community, which platform has a brighter future? Threads or Twitter, and why?

The question, which served as a response to former Twitter CEO Jack Dorsey’s attempt to mock Meta’s CEO Mark Zuckerberg after he requested to follow him on Threads, has sparked a lively debate between “team Musk” and “team Zuckerberg.”
Team Musk expressed different opinions, with some, like crypto mom, pointing out that Twitter is better “because Threads doesn’t have communities like we built on here. For example, crypto Twitter.”
Though one user said that that place ‘is worse than 4chan’, crypto mom refuted the claim, saying, “Actually it’s pretty lit! You just gotta know the right people to follow. Not the pump and dumpers.”

Meanwhile, Not Jerome Powell, the parody account of the Federal Reserve’s Chairman Jerome Powell, posted a cheeky meme dubbed “The evolution of trash where the typical trashbin “evolves” into Threads.

Another user, Brian Thomas, said that Twitter wins because “we’re already ramped up. Code wise and everything in between”, adding that “Zuck cheated and tried to perform a code dump into his threads platform. He took the easy route. Thus the reason why his platform is not up to snuff and will fail.”
Team Zuckerberg, in turn, had its own slew of arguments in favor of Threads.
One of the commentators, Keenan, argued that “Threads is where you make friends. Twitter is where you make money” though he did not specify how exactly one makes money on Twitter.

Another user wrote, “Threads. Elon is too polarizing. Threads can also be more advertising friendly. Elon may have an ace with the creator fund, but that’ll only prosper if the adspend does.”
There was also the scam factor. One of the users noted that “so far, the conversation is early-Twitter-like and I'm not getting tagged with crypto scams. Although I will say that Threads has changed how I manage my follows, which may also improve my Twitter experience.”

Meanwhile, others once again emphasized that Musk is messing with Twitter, destroying it bit by bit.
Perhaps the most positive and friendly answer came from Abdellatif Ahmed. He labeled the question as “unnecessary”, adding “why can't we just enjoy both? Users are the main winners from competition.”
