A secure web browser with an integrated crypto wallet now allows users to buy and sell cryptocurrency with fiat withdrawal. The list of available digital assets depends on the user's country and region.
Brave is more than just a browser – it's a fierce advocate for user privacy and data protection. Founded by Brave Software Inc., this development stands up to corporations and fights against the constant intrusion of third-party companies trying to collect your information. With its state-of-the-art security features and commitment to transparency, Brave empowers users to take back control of their online experience and enjoy the web with confidence.

Brave Wallet is the crown jewel among the myriad of additional features offered by the Brave browser. It's the first secure cryptocurrency wallet embedded right into the browser. With Brave Wallet, you can buy, sell, exchange, and store cryptocurrencies and NFTs easily. You can even link other wallets and dApps to Brave Wallet. And the best part? You don't need additional extensions or applications to use its functionalities.

In 2022, Brave teamed up with Ramp Network, a crypto startup specializing in payment infrastructure. Thanks to this collaboration, Brave users gained access to the on-ramp feature, which allows them to purchase cryptocurrencies with fiat. On March 10, 2023, the companies presented an update to the browser that naturally extended its functionality. It also added the off-ramp feature, allowing users to sell cryptocurrencies and withdraw fiat.

Now, users of the self-custody Brave Wallet can buy and sell cryptocurrencies without crypto exchanges, fully retaining ownership rights over their digital assets. This feature is especially relevant given the irresponsible handling of client funds by certain notorious exchanges.
While self-custody has grown in popularity over the past decade, the most common way to hold digital currency and tokens remains with centralized exchanges. We expect to see that shift with innovations in user-experience, like the one we are releasing today
as stated on the official Brave browser website brave.com.

  1. Open the expanded version of the wallet in your browser.
  2. Choose the digital asset you want to sell.
  3. Click the "Sell" button and enter the amount.
  4. Click "Sell with Ramp" and proceed to the payment service page to complete the transaction.

Ramp's website provides a list of cryptocurrencies supported for buying and selling through Brave Wallet. The platform offers lists for the United States and other countries, and is actively working to increase the number of supported cryptocurrencies and blockchains.
