📣 Wright vs. COPA: A New Chapter Unfolds with Fresh Evidence

The courtroom drama between Craig Wright and COPA takes a new turn with the introduction of email evidence meant to prove a £795,000 BTC transaction conducted between Wright's enterprises in 2009. Validating this transaction for the said year could bolster Wright's claim of being Bitcoin's elusive founder, Satoshi Nakamoto.
The case previously hinged on MYOB software screenshots as transaction evidence, which COPA experts criticized for potential alterations, suggesting they were created no earlier than 2020.
Countering these allegations, Wright stated these screenshots were furnished by Ontier, his previous legal counsel, and were taken by the end of 2019. Defending this timeline, Wright's current attorneys from Shoosmiths provided emails between Ontier and themselves. Intriguingly, Ontier’s correspondence plainly stated their inability to access these records before March 2020.
Adding another layer, Wright's attorney introduced a letter from Wright's spouse that disputes Ontier's assertion, alluding to a series of emails that showed lawyers had access to the documents in late 2019.
COPA has declared the letters Wright provided to be doctored.
Wright himself later acknowledged that the letters were indeed modified, yet he refrained from taking responsibility, insinuating that there were efforts to besmirch his reputation by circulating tampered letters under his guise.
The court has yet to decide on the validity of these evidences.
A follow-up hearing in this legal tussle is penciled in for March 12, 2024.
