SV Angel, a venture capital fund, has rallied companies such as OpenAI and Microsoft to endorse an open letter urging the ethical development of artificial intelligence for the greater good of humanity. OpenAI's CEO, Sam Altman, praised the initiative and signed it on behalf of the company.
Excited for the spirit of this letter, and ron’s leadership in rallying the industry!
Altman expressed.
Notables such as Google, Meta, Salesforce, Mistral AI, among others, have also signed on. Yet, the letter's vagueness and lack of specificity have drawn skepticism from users, branding it as noncommittal and reminiscent of a pledge "to support all that is good and oppose all that is bad."
In other developments, Elon Musk has sued OpenAI and Sam Altman personally for violating their agreement on the development of general artificial intelligence (AGI). While OpenAI has opted not to formally address the lawsuit, it has informally labeled it "just another case of a billionaire’s regret."
