Bitcoin Core developer Luke Dashjr has revealed that the forthcoming v27 update, designed to block spam in the blockchain, may inadvertently disrupt the Ordinals protocol.
He argues that BRC-20 tokens were initially a scam and an assault on the Bitcoin network, inflicting irreversible damage to its users. This stance, however, has met with mixed reactions in the community.

Ongoing discussions fuel speculation of a potential Bitcoin fork amid disagreements. Luke maintains that the new spam filters will become a standard policy, affecting both large mining pools and solo miners.
