📣 New Chapter in Sam Bankman-Fried's Legal Drama

Sam Bankman-Fried, former head of the now-bankrupt FTX exchange, is due back in court on February 21, 2024, to testify about his lawyers' potential conflict of interest. This interrogation is expected to be conducted by the judge.
This development follows a joint letter from U.S. prosecutors concerned about SBF’s lawyers representing both him and Alex Mashinsky from Celsius, due to intertwining past loans between their firms.
The court now has to decide if the accused are prepared to forgo their right to counsel without a conflict of interest. Meanwhile, Alex Mashinsky has not yet received a similar court order, with his official trial set to start in late 2024.
Previously, Sam Bankman-Fried was convicted on seven criminal counts and is currently detained, awaiting his final sentencing.
