No, it’s not April Fool’s Day. Just Elon Musk is playing around with Twitter once again.
It’s hot on Twitter.

Elon Musk, CEO of Tesla and Twitter, has placed a new icon next to Twitter’s home button, and it looks straight out of the Dogecoin-pump-price playbook as it features the iconic Shiba Inu dog. Yes, the one that’s part of the Doge logo.

The market immediately reacted to the news. According to CoinMarketCap data, Dogecoin’s price has been steadily pumping, going up 25.47% in the past seven days.

As a result, hashtags like #Dogecoin and #Dogecointothemoon are trending on Twitter, with Dogecoin retweeting Musk’s non-ambiguous statement as to whom this change is devoted.

Unexpectedly, the story didn’t end there, as the Shiba Inu breed is used by the Dogecoin community and NAFO, the North Atlantic Fella Organization, a decentralized community of volunteers fighting Russian disinformation on Twitter.

Since Russia launched a full-scale war against Ukraine on February 24, 2022, different Twitter handles with Shiba Inu profile pics have been spreading various memes, targeting so-called “vatniks”. This term refers to zealous pro-Russian supporters who must take a particular med called “copium”, i.e., medicine that helps you cope with the situation.

The recent change came after Musk announced that he wants Twitter to serve as a financial hub for users to send each other money and earn interest on deposits through an app.

Previously, Gagarin News reported that Elon Musk-inspired LunarCrush sent a $1.7M Bitcoin bounty to the moon.
