Jeff Zirlin, the co-founder of EVM blockchain Ronin and the popular game Axie Infinity, suffered a significant loss of approximately $10.5 million in cryptocurrency following the hacking of two personal wallets.

The stolen funds were moved from wallets on Ronin Bridge v2 and laundered through the Tornado Cash mixer to obscure their trail.

According to the blockchain analysis by Lookonchain, the hackers pilfered a diverse array of assets including 3.2 million RON, 282.32 WETH, 160,000 PIXEL, 2.76 million SLP, 2,042 USDC, and 164 AXS, which were subsequently exchanged for 3,249 ETH.
Zirlin clarified that the hackers specifically targeted his private accounts, and this breach did not affect Ronin project operations. Alexander Larsen, another co-founder of Ronin, confirmed that the Ronin Bridge's funds and operations remained unscathed.
The attack is limited to my personal accounts, and has nothing to do with validation or operations of the Ronin chain,
Zirlin stated in his post.
He also noted that the compromised keys are not linked to Sky Mavis, the operating company behind the Axie Infinity game and Ronin blockchain.

It's worth noting that two years ago, the Ronin project experienced a massive cyberattack, leading to a loss of $625 million in cryptocurrency. The notorious North Korean group Lazarus was implicated in this breach. Following the incident, approximately $30 million was reclaimed through the intervention of authorities, involving transactions that passed through centralized exchanges.
