Lufthansa Takes Flight with NFT Loyalty Program on Polygon
European airline giant Lufthansa has rolled out an NFT-based loyalty program via its Uptrip mobile app, developed by Lufthansa Innovation Hub and frequent flyer program Miles & More.
Passengers can scan their boarding passes to mint NFT trading cards on Polygon, which can be stored in their crypto wallets. Accumulating specific sets of these NFTs unlocks various perks like flight upgrades and lounge access.
The initiative aims to make Web3 tech more accessible to Lufthansa customers. So far, the program has seen over 20,000 sign-ups and 200,000 NFT cards minted.
