New Hampshire Attorney General John Formella confirmed that Texas-based companies Life Corporation and Lingo Telecom were involved in fake Biden calls to state voters, urging them to skip the Republican primary election. However, he has refrained from pressing formal charges against them.
I think this case is unique in that it is providing us a real-life example of an attempt to use AI to interfere with an election,Formella remarked.
He has called on the companies to cease their violations of New Hampshire's state laws to avert legal action. Furthermore, Formella acknowledged an ongoing criminal investigation into over 10,000 such calls, aiming to identify the true instigator. He also did not dismiss the possibility of other companies from various states being involved.
