US Space Force Major Jason Lowery advocates for the U.S. Defense Innovation Board to explore Bitcoin's Proof-of-Work transaction validation mechanism as a tool to fortify national security.

“Addressing this could be vital for the US to maintain its positions as a global superpower and leader among nations, especially in an increasingly digital and interconnected world plagued by security vulnerabilities,” he noted.

In his proposal, Lowery draws parallels between Proof-of-Work and physical security tactics employed in conventional military contexts.

He asserts that Bitcoin's underlying technology has the potential to safeguard various types of data and messages, thereby contributing substantially to cybersecurity efforts.
