Lance Hill, the original screenwriter of the 1989 film "Road House," sued Amazon MGM Studios for alleged copyright infringement and artificial intelligence misuse. Hill claims the studio expedited the remake's production, using AI to generate actor dialogue before the copyrights reverted to him.

Amazon firmly denies these accusations and expresses confidence in the legal process. Sources from EW reveal that Amazon did use AI in the movie's development, but removed all AI-generated elements from the final edit.
Amazon tried to hand-waive me away. They might as well erect a sign out front advising TALENT BEWARE, NOT WELCOME HERE,
the screenwriter remarks.
Hill's lawsuit seeks to block the film's distribution in theaters and streaming services until he receives fair compensation. Echoing Amazon's optimistic stance, Hill's lawyer underscores the importance of challenging big studios which rely heavily on content for their existence.
