The days of hunting for a quiet, well-lit corner for reading, where you won't be disturbed from the unfolding plot, are over. Upgrade your reading experience with the Sol Reader headset, brought to you by Sol.
Sol Reader is a fresh innovation from the tech startup Sol, experts in the realm of reading technologies and mind-enhancing tools. The team at Sol emphasizes that while the format and methods of reading books have evolved over the course of human history, the profound impact they have on our minds and lives has remained a constant.
Reading is awesome. It always has been, and always will be. But in an age where apps and algorithms are in a constant battle for our attention, we’re more likely to skim over the top of captions, headlines, and comments than lose ourselves in a good book. At Sol, we’re creating tools for the reader in all of us; that part yearning for something more engaging, more immersive and more, well, entertaining than a caption (or paragraph of website copy) can ever be,

The Sol Reader was devised to let every enthusiast experience a new stage in the evolution of reading, allowing for complete immersion in the world of books. This dedicated headset employs focus-enhancing technology, enabling users to tune out the incessant barrage of notifications from social networks, emails, and various applications, helping them concentrate on their book.

Described by its creators as "noise-cancellation for the eyes," the Sol Reader eliminates all distractions. Essentially, this headset serves as a wearable e-book, providing a unique immersive reading experience without causing discomfort to the eyes or neck. Users simply need to find a cozy spot, put on the Sol Reader, and embark on their literary journey.

Boasting a sleek design, the Sol Reader comes complete with a remote control and a charger. Weighing a mere 104 grams and having compact dimensions of 158x183x57 mm, it is equipped with an inbuilt rechargeable lithium-ion battery with a capacity ranging from 235 mAh to 470 mAh. Whether it's charged via USB-C from a computer or directly from the mains, it provides more than 25 hours of reading time.

What sets Sol Reader apart is its capacity to customize text display settings. The device projects an image at a comfortable distance (approximately 1.5 m), helping to prevent the onset of strain or fatigue. Users can adjust the image parameters to suit their visual sharpness and the distance between their pupils. The headset caters to individuals with up to -5.75 dioptres of myopia. The creators advise against using the Sol Reader concurrently with regular glasses or contact lenses, as the gadget is intended for standalone use.
