Students under the age of 17 may no longer be able to play Horizon Worlds. Senators Edward J. Markey and Richard Blumenthal sent a letter to Meta CEO Mark Zuckerberg, categorically demanding that he abandon the strategy of attracting teenagers to virtual reality.
The politicians characterize Horizon Worlds as a poorly understood and potentially dangerous environment, and Zuckerberg's plans as unacceptable.

"With its documented failure to protect children and teens, Meta has lost the trust of parents, pediatricians, politicians, and the public," the senators categorically state.

Senator Markey is known as the author of the landmark Children's Online Privacy Protection Act, which came into effect at the dawn of the Web in 1998.
