Project Radicle: Treasury for programmers

How to motivate programmers from different countries to collaborate on software? Money is the biggest motivation. For this purpose, the Radicle project and its RAD cryptocurrency have been launched.
Most of the software hosted on GitHub and Gitlab is based on open-source code (when they don't take money for using and copying the code and don't pay for its improvement). The developers can be inspired to effectively develop the project on a voluntary basis, but for a very short time only.
In addition, GitHub and Gitlab repositories are located on centralized servers, which contradicts the idea of decentralized development.

What is Radicle, and where is it used?

The Radicle project was launched four years ago and pursued a completely utilitarian goal: funding coders who create open-source software projects. Its founders, Monadic (Germany) and Radicle Foundation (Switzerland) are closely associated with software and website development for the tech sector.

Radicle is designed to run a peer-to-peer network to store publicly available code and support developers who write code "volunteerly" with the internal RAD token.

In simple terms, Radicle is a utility token cash desk through which front-end and back-end developers receive rewards for writing software for non-commercial and commercial use.
Since 2021, Radicle has been integrated into the Ethereum blockchain to store metadata on the network.

What is Radicle cryptocurrency, and where is it used?

RAD is the project's internal token in the ERC-20 format. Since Radicle's operating model is participatory, RAD owners are given the right to vote and determine the project's development.

All RAD holders are united in the Radicle DAO, which works like a treasury: it automatically charges a commission to users who interact with smart contracts and rewards those who create them. Accruals and deductions are made based on the program code, so the subjective human factor is excluded.
Note that commissions are not charged for each use of smart contracts, but only for those that involve further commercial use of the product.

For RAD holders, this fee is minimal or non-existent.
If you are not a developer but need to pay for a programmer or want a discount on access to commercial code, this can be done using the RAD token.

It can be purchased on the exchanges:
● Coinbase
● Huobi
● Gate.io
● Binance

The total circulating supply of the Radicle cryptocurrency is 47.2 million RAD. The daily turnover is $127-$130 million. With the current token price of $1.7, this is an indicator of high interest.
But, as an investment object, the RAD token may be of interest only if you plan to cooperate with the Radicle project.
