Matrix World: a 3D multichain metaverse

Matrix World is a multichain metaverse where users can create immersive 3D decentralized apps. The virtual world currently supports two blockchains: Flow and Ethereum. The number of networks will expand in the future.
The capabilities of the participant are not limited to dApps with the effect of immersion in a virtual environment. The user will be able to create architectural and other 3D objects, hold metaconferences, transform their NFTs into characters, and use external services within the matrix.

The metaverse is made up of Lands. Each parcel will have its own restrictions on computing power and storage resources. Lands are issued as Non-Fungible Tokens (NFTs)

Public spaces (such as shopping centers, NFT museums, sports broadcasting locations, etc.) will be built on the lands. Custom objects and entertainment elements, including P2E games, will appear in the virtual world as it evolves.

The project's beta version will be released in 2023, with the official launch of Matrix World scheduled for the first quarter of 2024.

What makes the metaverse unique?

Immersive 3D applications

Matrix World users can create decentralized applications within the virtual world using built-in development tools and programming languages. The matrix will be expanded and enriched with additional interaction variations with each new 3D dApp. 3D apps are required to connect participants to external services.

One example given is the creation of a DEX ATM that enables users to buy cryptocurrencies without leaving the metaverse. It is possible to give it shape, color, texture, lighting, and other details. Furthermore, artificial intelligence will be used to improve payment functionality.

When everything is ready, the created object will be transformed into a decentralized application by the Matrix World virtual machine.

Programmable NFTs

Holders of any kind of NFT will be able to transfer it to the metaverse and then transform it into a 3D object while keeping its original appearance. They can also program a character based on it for a future game or make an animation.

Multichain ecosystem

The virtual environment will initially be built on top of two blockchains, but in the future, a wide range of other networks and protocols will be able to connect to it via smart contracts. As a result, the matrix will serve as a hub for users and developers who work with various blockchains.

This Matrix World feature will enable many third-party services to be integrated into the world. According to the project's White Paper, the first will be OpenSea, Rarible, and MyNFT NFT marketplaces, IPFS data storage system, and even Twitch and YouTube platforms.

The interfaces of the created 3D apps, as well as other programmable objects, will be in charge of connecting to these platforms.

Who developed Matrix World?

The Matrix Labs team, which was formed in 2017, is responsible for creating the virtual world. Cell Evolution is the game that made them famous in the Web3 world. Other projects in the company's portfolio include the NFT collection Phanta Bear, the blockchain game Rivermen, and a cloud-based Web3 Infrastructure Chainbase.

Matrix Labs collaborated with the development environment ChainIDE in 2018. They established a residency to train developers in the creation of metaverses and blockchain games.

In 2021, the company took part in an educational program for Indonesian programmers as part of the country's blockchain week.

Companies that collaborate with Matrix Lab

Aside from the partnership with Flow, which ensures the emergence of a blockchain headquarters with all subprojects (Crypto Kitties, NBA Top Shots, etc.) in the metaverse, Matrix has signed agreements with three representatives from the crypto industry.

RSS3. It is a decentralized data transfer protocol used in the Web3 sector. This partnership will all Matrix World users to set up their own social media channels.

Admix is a platform that allows major brands from the real world to run advertisements in the metaverse. It cooperates, for instance, with Google, McDonald's, and Uber. This collaboration will enable virtual world participants to monetize their gameplay by placing advertising banners on the buildings of their land plots.

The Fabricant. This digital fashion house that sells clothes and items for virtual worlds has also partnered with the metaverse. The studio platform will allow users to design and market wearable goods.

Furthermore, Matrix World was supported by investment companies. In February 2022, it raised $5.5 million in angel-round funding led by Tess Ventures, Everest Ventures Group, Com2Us Group, and Y2Z Ventures.
