Ledger Stax - yet another place to keep your NFTs
Ledger has partnered with Tony Fadell, the well-known creator of Apple’s iPod, to create its new Ledger Stax hardware wallet.
After the collapse of FTX and the subsequent massive hacks, not only Web3 enthusiasts, but also supporters of CEX platforms realized that exchanges are not a reliable place to store crypto. Users have logically shifted their focus to hardware wallets in search of ways to ensure the security of their digital assets.
The Czech manufacturer Satoshi Labs (Trezor) and the French company Ledger are the market leaders, and few can compete with them in terms of the crypto storage security. Each of them has a 20-25% market share. The remaining 50% is accounted for by mobile applications and cold storage exchanges. As a result, the companies had to compete with each other in terms of know-how, price segmentation, and in the number of supported coins.
However, the French have lately gone all-in and introduced the new hardware wallet with an interesting design. The super device supports NFT in addition to the regular list of coins.

The most unusual details we can notice:
1. The device's unique form. It resembles a thick credit card with magnets that allow you to combine several devices into a single unit. We believe that this is more about design than functionality. This makes no sense in terms of functionality, but it is visually appealing.
2. The display also has a spine that curves around the edge, so a stack of wallets looks like a stack of books. By the way, because the display is curved around the edge, each gadget can be marked at your discretion, completing the analogy with the book.
3. The Ledger Stax sports an E-ink display. You can customize your gadget with your favorite pictures to make it unique. The screen will feature the display, even when Ledger Stax is off.

Technical Specifications
While the design has a wow rating of 5 out of 5, we did not notice any unique technical innovations.
Here are specifications from the presentation:

- built-in rechargeable lithium-ion battery with 200 mah

Separately, we would like to clarify that the creators claim that its battery can last for weeks or even months on a full battery charge.
What else can we expect from Ledger?
At the presentation of Ledger Stax, Tony Fadell stated that he has big plans to expand the functionality of the hardware wallet.
He intends to transform traditional digital coin storage into personal data storage, which we used to keep on our smartphones.
Tony believes that this device can be used to securely replace ID cards, passports, loyalty cards, and even password lists.
