A fictional world for chaotic times is what creator, entrepreneur, and bestselling author Tim Ferriss calls The Legend of COCKPUNCH. What makes COCKPUNCH unique, and what is Emergent Long Fiction?
Tim Ferriss is a popular American writer, public speaker, entrepreneur, and lifestyle design expert. He is best known for his motivational and business books, including the legendary “The 4-Hour Workweek: Escape 9-5, Live Anywhere, and Join the New Rich”.

However, Ferriss is more than the motivational author. His new project is the unusual universe of The Legend of COCKPUNCH. The key characters of the NFT-based art project are roosters with a variety of abilities, armor, and weapons. The Legend of COCKPUNCH collection includes 5,555 NFTs and is already confidently competing with the market leaders. At the time of writing, it is ranked 17th in the TOP-20 on OpenSea.

Why is The Legend of COCKPUNCH much more than just an NFT? Let's find out!

What is COCKPUNCH and Emergent Long Fiction?

It is worth saying that Ferriss is familiar with the crypto industry firsthand. He started buying Bitcoins over a decade ago, has been collecting NFTs since 2021, and launched his first non-fungible token in early 2022. But the author was only warming up for the implementation of the COCKPUNCH universe.

Ferriss describes the experimental project as “a fictional world built for these chaotic times”. It is a fantasy realm, featuring world-building legends, “great houses”, numerous characters and secrets that users are invited to discover. In the future, stories will be joined by fiction, maps, and podcast episodes.
The whole point is to embrace fun, dive into creativity, and put irreverence at the core. So don’t take it too seriously.
According to Tim, the project is based on the concept of Emergent Long Fiction (ELF).

Emergent Long Fiction (ELF) is an approach that I’m taking to fictional world-building, wherein even I, as the writer, don’t know the outcomes.
The author explains the concept as follows:

  • Emergent. Creation of starting points (characters, circumstances, restrictions, etc.), the interaction of which forms non-predetermined storylines;
  • Long Fiction. Using stories with at least 10,000 words. All the stories that users encounter are an absolutely finished product. They are carefully prepared and polished before launch;
  • ELF. Simply, because “elves are fucking rad”.
When I played D&D ages ago, I was always a gray elf. I still have all of my modules from childhood. There will be multiple clans of elves in the world of COCKPUNCH.

The noble mission of fantastic cocks

Ferris never tires of emphasizing that The Legend of COCKPUNCH is not an investment, but an out-of-ordinary art project.
This should not be and will not be your 401k, your next mortgage payment, or your kid’s college tuition. I make absolutely no promises of future value, so please have no expectations. This is solely a creative, artistic process.
COCKPUNCH is an experiment with clearly articulated values. It not only introduces users to innovation and allows to “chortle like a goofy child every day”, but also raises funds for the Saisei Foundation. It is a non-profit foundation created by Tim Ferriss in 2018 to conduct research and clinical therapy for intractable conditions such as treatment-resistant depression, opioid addiction, anorexia nervosa, and post-traumatic stress disorder (PTSD).
I wouldn’t be here today if it weren’t for the types of treatments and research that Saisei supports,
says Tim.
The Saisei Foundation received 100% of the proceeds from the initial sale of The Legend of COCKPUNCH NFT collection.
