Chess on the blockchain: how will the Avalanche smart contract platform assist the FIDE Chess Federation? Visit the website to find out!
Ava Labs' blockchain technology will be used by FIDE to create an on-chain player rating, manage tournament details, track game history, and onboard prize pools and digital trophies on Avalanche.

Peer-to-peer networking will facilitate organizational tasks while enhancing operational efficiency and data analytics. The Avalanche network will also be used to add personalized gaming experiences to chess. Additionally, Ava Labs Crypto Wallet will sponsor FIDE events as part of the collaboration.

The partnership is expected to improve the integrity of tournaments, attract a new generation of players to the sport, and power innovation in other areas.

Chess is a unique sport, and this cooperation will allow us to unify our community and strengthen the ties between players, clubs, federations, and FIDE
says Emil Sutovsky, CEO of the International Chess Federation
The possibilities created by bringing chess on-chain are about as limitless as the game of chess itself… On Avalanche, players all over the world will experience chess like never before
adds Emin Gün Sirer, CEO of Ava Labs.
In the past, FIDE and TON Labs collaborated on projects related to cryptocurrencies. In 2021, the federation claimed to be the first international sports organization to launch its own NFT collection.

Ava Labs is the developer of a fast, low-cost, and eco-friendly Avalanche smart contract platform.

FIDE is a chess federation that was founded in 1924 to organize world chess championships. It consists of 200 national chess organizations. According to representatives of the federation, chess is an ancient board game that originated in India, and, after centuries, went digital. Every day, more than 25 million digital tournaments take place, with approximately 100 million people playing them online. The incorporation of chess into the Web3 space represents a new stage in the game's evolution.
